چکیده

Abstract. Landslides whose slide surface is gentle near the toe and relatively steep in middle rear part are common Three Gorges Reservoir area, China. The mass that overlies of termed “driving section”, which “resisting section”. A driving–resisting model presented to elucidate deformation mechanism reservoir landslides this type, as exemplified by Shuping landslide. More than 13 years field observations include rainfall, level, show displacement velocity landslide depends strongly on level but only slightly rainfall. Seepage modeling shows was destabilized shortly after first impounded 135 m, initiated a period steady from 2003 2006 driven buoyancy forces resisting section. Cyclical water fluctuations subsequent also affected slope stability, with annual “jumps” coinciding drawdown periods produce outward seepage forces. In contrast, inward force results rising levels stabilizes slope, indicated decreased velocity. Corrective transfer earth driving section successfully reduced feasible treatment for huge similar geological settings.

Influencing Factor Analysis and Displacement Prediction in Reservoir Landslides − a Case Study of Three Gorges Reservoir (china)

Subject review The developmental tendencies of cumulative displacement time series associated with reservoir landslides influenced by large water reservoirs must be effectively predicted. However, traditional methods do not encompass the dynamic response relationships between landslide deformation and its influencing factors. Therefore, a new approach based on the exponential smoothing (ES) and...

Characteristics of Fine Roots of Pinus massoniana in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area, China

Several studies have focused on fine roots characteristics because they provide a major pathway for nutrient cycling and energy flow in forest ecosystems. However, few studies have evaluated changes in fine root characteristics according to their diameter. Pinus massoniana forests are the main vegetative component in the Three Gorges Reservoir area and play an important role in providing forest...

Evaluation of Gridded Precipitation Data for Driving SWAT Model in Area Upstream of Three Gorges Reservoir

Gridded precipitation data are becoming an important source for driving hydrologic models to achieve stable and valid simulation results in different regions. Thus, evaluating different sources of precipitation data is important for improving the applicability of gridded data. In this study, we used three gridded rainfall datasets: 1) National Centers for Environmental Prediction-Climate Foreca...

OBJECTIVE To define and evaluate the malaria transmission potential in the Yangtze River, following construction of the Three Gorges Reservoir. METHODS Six villages, namely, Kaixian, Fengjie, Wanzhou, Fuling, Yubei, and Zigui were selected for investigating the malaria transmission potential in the reservoir. Transmission potential was estimated by mathematical modeling and evaluation of the ...
